Even More Felt Board Fun

Itsy Bitsy Spider Play Along

Continuing with our Umbrella and weather unit, I decided I would make another rainy themed felt board.

   Itsy-Bitsy Spider

The itsy-bitsy spider
Climbed up the water spout

Down came the rain
And washed the spider out

Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain

 And the itsy-bitsy spider
Climbed up the spout again

Felt Board Fun Part 2

Unbelievable Umbrellas!

This is only our second attempt at creating our own felt board stories.  Technically, I should call it a "flannel board"  since we changed our felt board background from felt fabric to flannel fabric.  I bought the flannel fabric on sale for $2 at Jo Ann Fabric and Craft Store.  Since our upcoming theme is the letter U for Umbrella, I saw an adorable poem here and decided to make our own felt umbrellas to go with our upcoming theme.

Five Umbrellas

Five umbrellas stood by the back door,
The red one went outside, then there were four
Four umbrellas, pretty as could be
The orange one went outside, then there were three
Three umbrellas with nothing to do
The green one went outside, then there were two
Two umbrellas not having much fun
The yellow went outside, then there was one
Just one umbrella alone in the hall,
The purple one went outside, and that was all!

Glitter Hush Bottle

Glitter Hush Bottle- DIY

So after reading this blog, we decided to make our own sensory glitter bottles to use when we need help calming down.  We had fun making the Glitter bottle, and even more fun watching the "pretty water."

Before

After

We used a bottle of Smart Water, the entire bottle of glitter glue, the entire bottle of glitter, and the tacky glue to secure the lid on the bottle.  Everything but the water bottle purchased at Michael's for less than $10.
